Verseway is a Bible reading app that works entirely on your device.
Nothing. The app has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no servers of its own.
Your reading position, bookmarks, notes, reading history and progress, reading-plan progress, memorization cards, and settings are stored only in the app's private storage on your device. They are included in your normal device backups (iCloud or iTunes/Finder backups) according to your own device settings.
“Export backup” writes a single file containing the data above and hands it to the system share sheet so you can save it wherever you choose (for example Files or iCloud Drive). The app never sends that file anywhere itself.
The widget reads a verse of the day from storage shared between the app and the widget on your device. No data leaves the device.
The app can be configured, at build time, to send a verse and its surrounding verses to an AI provider you choose in order to generate study notes. This is off in the App Store build. If it is ever enabled, the provider's own privacy policy applies to that request, and the app labels any generated text clearly as generated, never as Scripture.
Scripture texts are bundled: the World English Bible, Berean Standard Bible, King James Version and American Standard Version are public domain; the Literal Standard Version (Covenant Press) and Free Bible Version (Free Bible Ministry) are licensed under Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0. Cross references are from OpenBible.info and original-language data from STEPBible, both under Creative Commons Attribution licences. These are bundled inside the app; no requests are made to those sites.
The app does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.
If this policy changes, the new version will be published at the same address with an updated date.
